Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the SAFETY Conference 2026.

A conference volunteer is a selected individual who contributes their time, skills, and enthusiasm to support the successful planning and execution of a conference. Under the guidance of the conference organising team, volunteers undertake assigned responsibilities and event-related duties such as supporting delegates, speakers, exhibitors, and organising teams.Volunteers are expected to uphold the conference's standards of professionalism, confidentiality, inclusivity, and ethical conduct while representing the event positively.

Please complete this application form accurately. Submission of an application does not guarantee selection. Successful applicants will be contacted by the Conference Secretariat.

Please note:

Submission of an application does not guarantee selection as a volunteer.
Selected volunteers will be responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from the conference venue.
Selected volunteers will receive confirmation from the Conference Secretariat.
Selected volunteers will be required to sign a Volunteer Agreement and provide a certified Copy of their ID/Passport prior to commencing their volunteer duties.

Volunteer Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

Be at least 18 years of age by the first day of the conference.
Be available for the required training sessions and throughout the conference dates (29 August – 4 September 2026).
Be physically able to perform assigned duties associated with the volunteer role, including standing for extended periods, walking between conference venues, and assisting with event setup, logistics, and the handling of conference materials as required.
Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills.
Be reliable, punctual, and professional.
Have sufficient proficiency in English (proficiency in additional South African or international languages advantageous).
Applicants should have no criminal record or pending criminal charges or cases against them.

You must be an enrolled student at an academic institution
You must have your own accommodation in Cape Town
You must be able to get to and from the CTICC at your own cost.

VOLUNTEER BENEFITS

Allowed to attend conference sessions when not on shift - volunteers are paired and therefore only have to be at their allocated station for ½ of the day.
Lunch is provided
A certificate of service will be provided after the event.
